چکیده

Brassinosteroids promote soybean epicotyl elongation and regulate expression of BRU1, a gene with homology to xyloglucan endotransglycosylases (XETs). Recombinant BRU1 protein possesses XET activity and in situ hybridization reveals highest BRUl transcript accumulation in inner epicotyl tissue, particularly the phloem and paratracheary parenchyma cells. These results suggest a role for BRUl in vascular development in addition to cell elongation.

Molecular Cloning and Characterization of a Brassinosteroid - Regulated Gene f rom Elongating Soybean ( GIycine max 1 . ) Epicotyls ' Daniel

Brassinosteroids promote elongation and regulate gene expression in soybean (Clycine max 1.) stems. We construded a cDNA library from brassinosteroid-treated soybean epicotyls and used differential hybridization to isolate a cDNA (pBRU1) corresponding to a transcript whose abundance is increased by brassinosteroid treatment. Sequence analysis of pBRU1 revealed an open reading frame of 283 amino...

Two divergent xyloglucan endotransglycosylases exhibit mutually exclusive patterns of expression in nasturtium.

A cDNA encoding a xyloglucan endotransglycosylase (XET) homolog was isolated from nasturtium (Tropaeolum majus) epicotyl RNA. The deduced protein encoded by the corresponding gene, termed XET1, was substantially divergent from a previously isolated nasturtium XET (NXG1) expressed in germinating seed cotyledons but was highly homologous to XET genes isolated from vegetative tissues of several di...

Cotton is the bulkiest sink of natural textile fiber and a main oilseed crop, with extensive scientific, environmental, and socio-economic footsteps. Cotton fiber is a highly elongated seed hair with a secondary wall composed of almost pure cellulose. Development of cotton fibers is positively affected by a number of phytohormones including auxin, gibberellins and brassinosteroids (BRs) [1,2]. ...

Analysis of a xyloglucan endotransglycosylase/hydrolase (XTH) from the lycopodiophyte Selaginella kraussiana suggests that XTH sequence characteristics and function are highly conserved during the evolution of vascular plants.

A tissue print followed by a xyloglucan endotransglycosylase assay revealed that XET activity is present at sites of cell elongation in both roots and shoots of the lycopodiophyte Selaginella kraussiana. This paper provides the first report and analysis of a xyloglucan endotransglycosylase/hydrolase (XTH) cDNA sequence, isolated from a club moss. In silico analysis of the deduced amino acid seq...
